Milind S Kayande
Milind S Kayande, Agricultural Engineer, and Post Harvest Technologist from IIT Kharagpur. Worked in Maharashtra, India, at MSSC a Govt. of Maharashtra Seeds Corporation from 1984 to 86, and later at MAHYCO – a private sector seeds company from 1986 to 2000. The roles were from Plant Engineer to Manager.
In the year 2002, I moved to New Zealand and choose to work in the Irrigation industry. Especially dealing with sprinkler and centre pivot systems. During this period, I learnt and trained in IRRICAD – irrigation design software. This software is being used by various irrigation companies throughout the world for drip and sprinkler systems, and recently for pivot irrigation systems.
In India, I started to operate from 2021 as an individual and under a brand – Agritech Solutions, as a proprietorship. In the past 3 years, IRRICAD has found acceptance with major irrigation companies, and design consultants. I also undertake training sessions online for students and professionals.
In 2021 to 2022, lead a medicinal plant project from growing on farms to extraction of medicinal oil (geranium) at Niphad, Nasik, Maharashtra.
In 2022, was offered a role of Design and Sales at Blackmores Power & Water at Laura, in South Australia for a period of one year.
In the last year, I attended the ICID CID International Conference at Vizaj, from 1 to 6th November. Here I learned the opportunities in India on the Irrigation service and business. The status co was evident from the fact that this was running because of the GOI Subsidy (PMKSY) More Crop per Drop.
